The World of Antiques
We live in an ever changing world. It is said that the only thing constant in this world is change. All things age, and everything passes on. But with age comes a certain degree of refinement, a certain level of superiority. There’s a whimsical feel in old things that makes them seem like they’ve seen more than you do. If you look at a vase that’s four hundred years old, you can’t help but wonder if there was once a beautiful lady who once put the bouquet that her suitor gave her into that very vase. Old things are infinitely interesting because of the stories they hold. The older something gets the more interesting and rare and exotic it becomes.
Antiques have this certain elegance that never fails to make people think that they are beautiful. Antiques have a nostalgic feel about them that makes them such a wonderful thing to own. In fact, antiques are so special that some people even go so far as to furnish their houses with antiques, despite the presence of modern appliances and furniture. An interesting thing about antiques is that they’re oftentimes triple the price they were when they were new. Funny that something old and worn can cost so much, isn’t it? Antiquing is a really a great hobby for some people. Well, if that’s the case, maybe we should whip out great grand mama’s old drawer and see if it’s worthy of being hailed antique, maybe then we can earn a dollar or two.
